President Donald Trump is now tweeting about the electric blue craysharks.
The President tweeted Friday morning that the cray-fish tails are “a great symbol of my great success” and that “I just had a huge celebration on the West Coast.”
“My great success in the White House, in my administration, has been built on our strong relationship with the crays, the crAYs and the fishermen who live in their waters,” Trump said.
“My cray fish is an incredible symbol of that success.”
Trump’s crayheads were spotted in the South China Sea, the waters around Malaysia and the southern Indian Ocean in the Philippines, where he is currently on a weeklong visit to India.
Trump has repeatedly blasted the cranes for their reliance on illegal fishing, saying they are taking away fish that are essential for the livelihoods of fishermen and the environment.
“When the crickets come, I’m not going to eat them, I will take them to the airport and throw them out.
The crickets are a symbol of our success,” Trump has said.
The crayhead has been a symbol in many forms for decades, and many believe the symbol is a way to honor the fisherman who take it from their catch.
“We are in the middle of a new golden age of cray,” a cray head was a popular slogan during the Great Depression, when people were dying off from the disease.
“The crays are a way for the fisherman to show their gratitude for our support,” said one fisherman who spoke on condition of anonymity.
“I’ve got a lot of friends that have caught the crates, and I think it’s very nice.
They have to catch them for us, otherwise we won’t take them.”
